You’ve Got Questions. I Have Answers.
-
My work is rooted in relational, continuity-based care. I intentionally maintain a low-volume practice, which allows me to be fully present throughout each families individual pregnancy, birth, and postpartum without juggling overlapping due dates or passing families off to backup support.
Whether you are hiring me as a doula or a birthkeeper, my role is not transactional or clinical. I serve as a steady, trusted companion — offering emotional, physical, and spiritual support while honoring your autonomy and the sacred nature of birth.
-
A doula provides non-clinical support within or alongside the medical system, focusing on comfort, advocacy, education, and emotional support.
A birthkeeper offers non-clinical, family-centered support outside of institutional authority, often serving families who are choosing autonomous birth experiences such as homebirth or freebirth. As a birthkeeper, my role is rooted in presence, preparation, wisdom-keeping, and reverence for birth as a rite of passage — not medical management.
I do not provide clinical care, diagnose conditions, or replace a medical provider in any capacity.
-
My birthkeeper services are best suited for families who:
Desire an autonomous, family-led birth experience. Often these families are actively planning a freebirth/unassisted birth.
Are seeking non-clinical, sovereignty-centered support
Value spiritual, emotional, and relational preparation
Want a deeply present companion who honors birth as sacred
Birthkeeping is not a substitute for medical care and is not appropriate for those seeking clinical oversight or emergency management.
-
Yes, I offer birthkeeper support for freebirth families who understand and accept full responsibility for their birth choices. My role is one of presence, grounding, and witness — not medical authority.
We spend intentional time in prenatal preparation to ensure clarity, alignment, and mutual understanding of roles, expectations, and boundaries.
-
Because I work with one family at a time, the need for a backup is rare. This model allows for consistency, trust, and uninterrupted support.
In the unlikely event of an emergency or unavoidable conflict, contingency plans are discussed during prenatal visits so families are never left without clarity or support.
-
Support may include:
Prenatal visits focused on emotional, spiritual, and practical preparation
Birth education and partner preparation
On-call availability around your birth window
Continuous presence during labor and birth
Emotional and physical support for the mother and her chosen support people
Postpartum integration, processing, and grounding support
The exact scope of care varies depending on whether you are hiring me as a doula or a birthkeeper and is discussed in detail during consultation.
-
My doula services are offered at a flat rate of $2,000.
Birthkeeper services are custom-quoted based on the depth of prenatal preparation, on-call window, and postpartum integration requested.
Pricing reflects the level of dedication, availability, and relational care provided — not just attendance at a single event.
-
I intentionally work outside of the insurance system. Insurance-based care often prioritizes billing codes, documentation, and time restrictions over presence, autonomy, and individualized support.
By not accepting insurance, I am able to:
Work directly for the family, not a third party
Preserve privacy and informed choice
Offer care that is flexible, relational, and sovereign
Limit my client load to provide higher-quality support
-
Yes. I offer placenta encapsulation as a stand-alone service or as an add-on for families I support during birth.
Placenta encapsulation is a traditional postpartum practice believed to support:
Hormonal balance
Energy and recovery
Mood stabilization
Iron replenishment
Individual experiences may vary, and placenta encapsulation is not a medical treatment.
-
I offer both:
Steamed (Traditional Chinese Medicine-inspired) preparation
Raw dehydration preparation
The method is chosen based on maternal preference, birth experience, and postpartum goals. Herbs may be added during preparation to support enhanced recovery.
The number of capsules varies depending on placenta size and preparation method. Most encapsulations yield between 100–200 capsules, though exact amounts cannot be guaranteed.
-
Placenta encapsulation services are offered at a flat rate of $300.
This includes preparation, encapsulation, and handling in accordance with food-safety and hygiene standards.
-
No. I do not diagnose, treat, or provide medical care. All services offered — including doula support, birthkeeping, and placenta encapsulation — are non-clinical and intended to support emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being, not replace medical care.
-
Birth and postpartum support are deeply personal. I offer consultations so we can explore alignment, expectations, and comfort before moving forward.
My work is best suited for families who value depth, presence, and intentional preparation.
